Dora Bleu
https://dorableu.wixsite.com/dorableu
Through the echoes of an acoustic guitar and vocal expressions, Dora Bleu explores inner life as a site
of the militia state. With vocals that erupt trauma within storytelling and uneven compositions driven by
stark silences and bent notes, her songs ignore genres to exhume vulnerable, dreamlike states.
Simultaneously tonal and atonal, sparse, tense, atmospheric without enacting melodies, sometimes
droning or dissonant, Dora’s pieces follow an inner sense of narrative time. Vocals and texts fuse with
sound to form a dense yet minimalistic soundscape. Dora has worked, recorded and performed with
numerous musicians, including Periklis Tsoukalas, Marc Ribot and Sam Shalabi. Prior works were
released on labels Drawing Room, VHF and Fire Museum, and other. Since 2007 Dora Bleu has toured
many times in Eastern and Western Europe and on the North American East coast.
