Caoi De Barra // Cian Nugent

We are incredibly excited to present two of Dublin’s most established songwriters Caoi De Barra & Cian Nugent for a double-headline concert.

Caoi de Barra is a Dublin/Berlin-based singer, songwriter, and drummer whose music moves between intimate vulnerability and inventive, understated soul. Drawing on the emotional clarity of artists like Joni Mitchell, the raw openness of Jeff Buckley, and the textured groove of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, she leans into a sound that feels authentic, warm, and quietly expansive.

After a decade writing, drumming, and harmonising with alt-pop trio Wyvern Lingo, she began releasing music under her own name—shifting from drums to guitar and letting her songs emerge with a more instinctive, stream-of-consciousness edge. Since 2022 she’s toured widely, playing drums with artists such as Allison Russell and Wallis Bird while shaping her own creative world.

Her first releases—the Thicket EP and the single Treehouse—took her on two scooter-powered tours around Ireland, reflecting the restless curiosity and handmade spirit at the heart of her work. Recently she recorded a series of live “Cow Walk Sessions” in a 150-year-old barn in Brandenburg, capturing the raw chemistry of her new band.

Now putting the finishing touches on her debut album, de Barra is carving out a space for music built from honesty, motion, and a sense of finding home in the in-between. She brings this full-band sound to Berlin on November 26th.

Cian Nugent is a guitar player and songwriter from Dublin, Ireland who combines personal passions, such as folk/blues, psychedelia, 1960s & ’70s singer-songwriters, jazz ambitions and electrified improvisation into a deeply personal style. His music boasts an orchestrated and fully instrumented sound that is playful and eerie at the same time.

He has toured widely both solo and as a group member in the USA and Europe with artists such as Steve Gunn, Ryley Walker, Angel Olsen, Nap Eyes etc.

His latest album She Brings Me Back To The Land Of The Living (No Quarter 2023) is his most accomplished to date, seamlessly combining aspects of everything he has done so far into a cohesive whole that is both concise and expansive in equal measures. The album was widely praised, receiving a 9/10 review from Uncut and was described by Aquarium Drunkard as “Exploring gentle revelations through impressionistic folk rock. Effortlessly blending mood, groove, and traditionally-based song craft—think Bert Jansch’s LA Turnaround, with its Red Rhodes-led pedal steel passages, with extra art rock friendly elements added for good measure”
