Through movement\, I consider what is ever lasting\, with that which is meant only to be brief and fleeting\, and if and how there is any overlap. Particularly focusing on the words: Is it unfinished or is it endless? The work blends music\, sounds and readings of the poem\, to create a collaboration and exploration into time. \n\n\n\nTaurinasChoreographed by Camila ArayaPerformed by Javiera Guerra\, Dicle Yilmaz and Camila ArayaThe bull or as I have called it “La TaurA” appears. This kind and strong animal only attacks when it is hurt. Three women embody “Las Taurinas” based on the archetype of Taurus. Although I consider myself as a woman and feminist\, I wanted to show just a body in struggle. I think recognizing ourselves as equals where we all feel pain and fear generates empathy\, because we can all identify with this term regardless of our gender.The aim of this work is to show the injustices as a contemporary problematic through the honesty of the body in movement. \n\n\n\n(Cover photo courtesy Katie Kelly)

This is achieved by using exclusively acoustic means of sound production generated by the body’s movements. \n\n\n\nMy first inspiration to produce a continuous sound with a percussive instrument evolved through an investigative process of the acoustic qualities of the performance space. I picking out various objects and implements over travels tours\, and in working residency I have adapted this piece to be played on a large drum\, which is used as a acoustic amplifier.I develop an intimate affinity with the materials in vibration. I have to evaluate these vibrations in my body at different levels\, to be able to coordinate my postures and movements\, but also like the archer with Kyudo\, tuned the mind to it. For give life to these vibrations I have used\, since 2008\, an dextrocentrique circumambulation. These sounds are often compared to certain soundsproduced by synthesizers but also to the magnitude that an orchestra can. However\, these sounds depends of the reflective quality of surrounding surfaces\, and on the volume of the performance space itself. \n\n\n\nThese sounds have unusual sonic textures\, they escape traditional percussion registers. They test the limits of our perception\, from infra to ultrasonic\, by playing phase shifts. They insert themselves into the intimacy of matter\, through micro vibration\, and we are presented with an audio saturation by noise density. The flow of these evokes both restraint and excess\, immersion and timelessness. \n\n\n\nZONE NULLThe Berlin-based duo ZONE NULL unites Tony Elieh and Burkhard Beins for an unusal encounter of two bass guitars and a variety of analog and digital live-electronics. While for Elieh the bass guitar has always been a main focus of his musical activities\, as an improviser and namely with the Lebanese indie rock band Scrambled Eggs\, Beins only recently expanded his already wide range of extended percussion\, experimental electronics and sound art by co-founding the Krautrock-Noise band Slurge as their bass player. The sonic fiction of ZONE NULL evolves and florishes on the broad musical horizon these two gentlemen have in common\, ranging from musique concréte and contemporary composition via improvised and experimental music to electronic\, post-punk and avantgarde rock.

Orphans without a home\, they were welcomed like brothers by the Parisian label Le Saule\, spotted by the chic Geneva-based Bongo Joe Records\, and thus were able to devote a year to the making their debut album\, “Terrain à mire. Une maison rétive. Contrainte par le toit.” \n\n\n\nCo-produced by the two families mentioned above\, the album was a first beam in the musical structure laid by this trio of Alpine fellows: what they sought was the most exact form of mutt-itude\, a nomadic journey through intentionally scrambled ancient musical signs by way of French\, Italian and Arabic song\, gleefully following René Char’s aphorism\, later borrowed and translated by Hannah Arendt as “Our inheritance was left to us by no testament.” \n\n\n\nBégayer’s mission– in the name of those without tradition\, the rejects of a culture of scarcity born in the twilight of popular customs amidst the screams of Noise on village squares and in the flow of digital swarms– is to create a hitherto unknown genre of hybrid gypsy rhapsody. \n\n\n\nThe culture of scarcity can be experiences as a kind of cruel joy\, an occasion to bridge the unsteady interpretation of ancient practices with contemporary experiments and build upon singular variations and excess. Up to now\, every stutter-song intended to produce a joyful though disquieting object whose obstinacy and cruel simplicity triggered a disturbance\, a distancing\, a studied thing that stares right back at us. \n\n\n\nNow\, with the support of Murailles Music\, the trio has become a quintet working towards a new kind of concert: a ceremony with no beginning and no end in which concert-time and quotidian time merge in order to deliberately drain of any autonomy the temporality of performance. SUMMARY:Drawing in the Ambient Treehouse
DESCRIPTION:The intricacies of Shibari and Aerial acrobatics are challenging to capture\, but creates new ways to study our human anatomy. This event gives visual artists the opportunity to work from life\, whilst experiencing breathtaking Shibari and Acrobatic performances. Shibari is a form of Japanese rope tying that juxtaposes geometric patterns and shapes with the body’s natural curves and textures. The model is a canvas\, and the rigger an artist who paints with rope. These aesthetic and intricate knot arrangements also stimulate pressure points in the body and can become a form of massage. Aerial acrobatics (Luftakrobatik) involves a steel hoop suspended from the ceiling in which an artist performs acrobatic and contortionist tricks. Commonly seen in the circus\, it combines elements of acrobatics\, contortion and dance\, enabling the performer to hang from atypical body parts\, such as the elbows\, the shoulders\, or even the neck. In aerial acrobatics\, poses balance physical exertion with techniques such as twists and hooks\, providing peculiar viewing angles that make for a unique live drawing experience. \n\n\n\nFollowing the drawing sessions\, soul-stirring ambient sets will carry the night into the early hours.Pacific Rift will meld a selection from Asmus Tietchens Hydrophonie studies and Donato Dozzy’s most intimate works with personal field recordings and Sahara’s Azu Tiwaline’ latest release for Livity Sound.Mitchell Keaney’s commanding flow of drones\, field recordings and loops promises a live set that transforms the world about us into a profound soundscape of mindful rendition.Daniel Craig will re-order the inner and outer sound worlds with the use of concrete sounds\, reel-to-reel tape and MaxMSP\, amongst other things.The drawing class will begin at 19:00 and end at 21:00.The ambient sets will start at 20:00 and run until at least 02:00.In order to keep things comfortable\, we’re capping the capacity at 101 and asking visitors to take off their shoes in the entrance hall before entering the living room. DESCRIPTION:An evening bringing writers together\, be it poets\, songwriters\, comedians\, or a tentative journal writer\, the purpose of this night is to use our wonderful communal space to create a comfortable environment for interdisciplinary sharing and a community of interdisciplinary writers. Whether you want to come and read\, listen\, or discuss\, all are welcome. The common tongue will probably be English\, but you’re welcome and encouraged to read in any language you like. \n\n\n\nThe theme is: EKPHRASIS! Ekphrasis is the practice of creating a work of art\, based on another form of art. For example\, a poem about a painting. The aim here is to encourage interdisciplinary exchange\, to be able to speak across artistic disciplines. The theme is only a recommendation\, you can present any work you like off topic. We encourage people to bring other art works that may be related to their writings\, for example showing us a song\, a painting\, a performance piece. The writings could be a poem\, a journal or writing detailing impressions of exhibitions\, or anything else. 2-5 euros tickets for use of the space. There will be the possibility to sign up to read throughout the night with the idea being to give reader’s as much time as they like.Bring you friends to enjoy our space and bar together!
