DESCRIPTION:“… SUMMARY:Hard to Talk! March edition
DESCRIPTION:Hard to Talk! March editionwhat are you silent about? \n\n\n\nTisa Neža Herlec – voiceShiomi Kawaguchi – tsugaru shamisen \n\n\n\nPaola Lesina / Giorgio Alloattifield recordings and analog synths/modular synth \n\n\n\nAdrien Vel – film screening and discussion if you have something to say!1) «The ants devoured my soul» 5mn\, animation in stop motion.Synopsis : A three-life-long journey in the depth of the soul2) «The shadow of the comet» 17mn\, experimental / live action.Synopsis : Rêve goes in search of a woman in a journey between dream and reality. \n\n\n\nLIFE BITS – Interactive audiovisual installationCable bacteria have been around for millions of years\, but they were only recently found in the sediment of the ocean. Their discovery was a true milestone for the field of microbiology. These microorganisms can be centimeter-long and perform a unique metabolism by which they can naturally generate an electric current. They do so by performing long-distance electron transport\, moving electrons from sulfide (their energy source) to oxygen (their favorite electron acceptor) over centimeter distances. Cable bacteria are considered to be ecosystem engineers\, contributing in several ways to the ecosystem they inhabit. \n\n\n\nLIFE BITS is an inside look to perspectives and utopias of this unique kind of microbial life\, through sonic translation of their DNA sequences and visual/spatial portrayal of their life environment\, reflected in an octophonic (8.1) audiovisual installation\, that invites the public to immerse themselves and interact with their surroundings. \n\n\n\nLIFE BITS is a research-based installation project in continuous development. For this edition\, artists Beatriz Gijón and Ewoud Van Eetvelde have been working for one month residency at PAS eV. in collaboration with scientist Stefano Scilipoti. \n\n\n\nEntrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1 OGDoors 19:00\, installation starts at 19:00\, performances at 20:00.

SUMMARY:Spiral Sunday series at PAS
DESCRIPTION:Spiral Sunday series continues March 19th at PAS. \n\n\n\nVery thrilled that Andrew Lafkas has organized another ensemble work and this will probably be his last concert in Berlin for a while…… \n\n\n\nAndrew Lafkas – doublebass\, compositionAaron Snyder – percussionMargareth Kammerer – guitar\, voiceAlexander Markvart – box\, guitar\, teaCosam – KalimbaBryan Eubanks – synthesizerCarina Khorkhordina – trumpetBrianne Curran – violinCatherine Lamb\, Eric Wong\, Chris Peck\, Evelyn Saylor – voices \n\n\n\n\\ \n\n\n\nThe second set will be some selected works for voice by the composer Laura Steeneberge (sadly\, Laura won’t be present)… In addition to Laura’s work being always compelling\, the music will be performed by Catherine Lamb and Julia Holter (and possibly others). Catherine\, Julia\, and Laura founded the Singing By Numbers group in LA some years back so it’s fitting that Julia and Cat are able to sing some of her work making a sort of “trio” again. \n\n\n\nDoors are early at 18:30\, music starts promptly at 20:00. Some drinks and food beforehand while it lasts. \n\n\n\nAufgang II in the Hof at Kaiserin-Augusta-Allee 101.

SUMMARY:Mystery Session at PAS
DESCRIPTION:Tomorrow you are welcome to take part in MYSTERY SESSION @PAS\, 16. 03. 2023 from 18.00 to 22.00 \n\n\n\nWe will jumpstart our psycho-physical potentialities to form an unpredictably expressive collective body of an improvisational creature. \n\n\n\nMystery Sessions are playful\, participatory\, community encounters of performers and improvisers from different disciplines (such as movement\, sound\, text and visual). \n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome to join the 4-hour lightly composed and gently conducted situation. Please be on time\, bring the tools that you need and a snack to share. \n\n\n\nThe Mystery session will be conducted by Tisa N. Herlec\, a current resident at PAS that otherwise hosts these sessions on a weekly basis at UBIK\, Worm\, Rotterdam where she is based. \n\n\n\nTisa is a performer (vocalist)\, organizer (of situations\, sessions\, events and concerts)\, a composer and an improviser\, a thinker\, a radio host and a writer.Flowing with a swarm of fragments by the principles of multidisciplinarity\, multi-tasking\, omni-focus\, merging totalities and abundance. She explores the performative worlds of emergence\, collaboration and intuitive real-time creation\, interaction models\, and tactics of dismantling fear amongst other anxieties. \n\n\n\nHer website: https://tisa.world/ & https://www.instagram.com/_tisa_world_/

Essentially their music an improvisational “fresh” created directly in front of the listener. Improvisation on the verge of total collapse. Klub Demboh is a revitaliser of the Berlin experimental music scene in its openness\, tense precision and dynamic crater of timbres and organised sounds\, text and movements. The Klub erupts immer Mondays. The 11-piece band has frequent guests\, allowing for a slowly but surely constant changing Audio Visual Polyphony.

We are thrilled and honored that Bahauddin will share this incredible music in Berlin. \n\n\n\nSunday February 19th\, 20:00 | PASKaiserin-Augusta-Allee 101Entrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang IIdoors from 18:30 \n\n\n\nMore information will follow in the coming weeks. In the meantime we highly recommend the film Dhrupad by Mani Kaul\, which features a young Bahauddin playing his father’s Rudra Veena. It is a poetic and incredible portrait of this living music in practice.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjmDzNf_LCw \n\n\n\nAnd a beautiful short film of Bahauddin playing by the sea made by the Darbar Festival:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UncpoczPK9I

SUMMARY:R E M - Music For Closed Eyes
DESCRIPTION:R E M – Music For Closed EyesTue 14/04/23 Valentine’s DayPAS Barlin(From 22 to 10 am) \n\n\n\nWakefulness is the controlled flow of psychic energy\, it is the conscious system that analyses\, catalogues\, removes thought. Sleep is the free flow of psychic energy\, it is one of the many places where the unconscious\, in the form of desires and instincts\, often murky and unutterable\, manifests itself through dreams. What suggestions can the insertion of sounds generate in that liminal phase between sleep and wakefulness? What changes in us\, when we return to lucidity after sleeping accompanied by sounds? And how do sounds interact with dreaming? We might dream that we are listening to music that we believe to be in the dream\, we might dream that we are listening to music that we know to be real\, or the dream might distort/modulate the music and lead us into a more or less conscious listening experience that is impossible to gain in wakefulness.Altering the experience of sleep with music means searching for sensations that can become suggestions for wakefulness. Can we find creative stimuli by accompanying sleep with music? Perhaps we could even influence our unconscious\, dreamlike production through music.Certainly far from any scientific accuracy and completeness R E M – Music For Closed Eyes wants to be an invitation to a personal exploration of sleep and dreams\, altered by sounds\, in search of suggestions\, unusual mental states and even new awareness andinterpretations of psychic production. \n\n\n\n!!!!
