SUMMARY:Lena Czerniawska "Anxiety"
DESCRIPTION:Lena Czerniawska “Anxiety”.Open during the concert program \n\n\n\nABOUT THE EXHIBITION“We don’t know what we are afraid of\, we don’t know what ails us\, and yet something ails us\, we would like to get out of the situation we are in\, to breathe freely\, but we don’t know what its evil consists in.” writes renowned psychiatrist Antoni Kepinski about anxiety.Yesterday pushes against tomorrow\, we can’t stop even for a moment\, because there are no moments free from life. We have to constantly wade into the future. The past pushes us into the gap of the unknown. This flight into the darkness can take the shape of an exciting expedition\, but also a terrifying fall.I try to explore the anxiety with an image\, to put a handset to the palpitating heart of our present. I find the delusions creeping over us\, tightly wrapped around the fragility of life.Lena Czerniawska \n\n\n\nmore about the artist – lenaczerniawska.weebly.com \n\n\n\nEntrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1 OG

Osgood is one of these musicians who at the same time defy and totally own categories. An extraordinary drummer and improviser who – with the fullest respect to tradition – challenges it at any given moment of his creative endeavors. He has about a 100 albums to his credit\, toured practically everywhere\, has been performing and/or recording with legends like Roscoe Mitchell\, Paul Bley\, Lee Scratch Perry\, William Parker\, Masabumi Kikuchi\, Derek Bailey\, Wadada Leo Smith\, Jason Moran\, Michael Blake\, Oliver Lake\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, John Tchicai\, Tim Berne\, Justin Vernon\, Peter Brötzman\, Joshua Redman\, Eugene Chadbourne\, Billy Preston\, Alan Silva\, Brad Mehldau\, Mats Gustafsson\, Bennie Maupin\, The National\, Dr. Lonnie Smith\, Sam Rivers\, Henry Grimes\, Dr. Yusef Lateef\, Warren Smith\, and many\, many others. But even that doesn’t really cover the full spectrum of what he has been up to in his career. A successful rapper\, composer\, pianist\, vocalist\, saxophonist and trumpeter\, a true multi-instrumentalist\, a powerful organizer being an extremely important driving force in lifting and pushing the music life in Copenhagen forward\, entertainer with his own shows in TV and radio\, receiver of numerous awards and honors\, A very sharp kaleidoscope man\, regardless of the context always realizing his fullest potential. In 2010 Osgood received the Ben Webster Prize and also has been involved in a 17 part series about the history of danish jazz. a podcast released by the Danish National radio.https://www.krestenosgood.com/ \n\n\n\nEls Vandeweyer is a Belgian vibraphonist\, percussionist\, and composer currently living in Berlin. Festival in Berlin). In 2017\, her composition Landscape\, a 25-meter-long textile that functions as a mobile graphic score\, was performed in Berlin as part of the Kontraklang series on contemporary music.Past projects include a duo with Fred Van Hove\, Quat (with Fred Van Hove\, Paul Lovens\, and Martin Blume)\, Andromeda Mega Express Orchstra\, Pascal Niggenkemper´s Vision 7\, the Serenus Zeitblom Oktett and collaborations with Hans Unstern en Real Geizt.Recent projects are Metal Illusion (a shadow play with Rieko Okuda)\, Kudu (with Ignaz Schick and Klaus Kürvers)\, participation in the SFO- orchestra of Georg Graewe and a cooperation with Theater Zuidpool in Antwerp. He studied musicology in Greece where he collaborated with a variety of local music groups as well as musicians like Sakis Papadimitriou and Floros Floridis. In 2004 he moved to Berlin\, where he got heavily involved in the improvised music scene of the city.Since then\, he has worked with many musicians like Phil Minton\, Audrey Chen\, Kalle Kalima\, Axel Dörner\, Kresten Osgood\, Tristan Honsinger\, Tomomi Adachi\, Richard Scott\, Willi Kellers\, Matthias Bauer\, Antonis Anissegos\, Olaf Rupp\, Els Vandeweyer\, Harri Sjöström\, Nicola Hein and Liz Allbee\, dancers like Yuko Kaseki and visual artists like Akiko Nakayama. Kriton Beyer is a member of the electroacoustic trio “uproot”\, the ensembles “Redox Reaction”\, “AEAEA” and the “Berlin Soundpainting Orchestra”.In his work with the harmonium\, Kriton Beyer uses both the natural sound of his instrument and “traditional” playing techniques as well as preparations\, objects and extended techniques\, while his daxophone play is characterized by a very personal musical and sonic aesthetic\, and an unconventional technique\, sometimes also supported by the subtle use of electronics. As an improvising musician\, he has performed throughout Europe. His compositions are usually characterized by conceptualism.Kriton Beyer has also conceived and commissioned the music software CinePrompt®\, which was specially developed for the use for live musical performance and live recording to films. He also curates and manages the concert series and record label “The Procrustean Bed”\, dedicated to Experimental Improvised Music.http://www.kritonbeyer.com/ \n\n\n\n• • • • • • •Photos by: Hreinn Gudlaugsson\, Cristina Marx (Photomusix)\, Klaus Eisenlohr

SUMMARY:Sky Atlas // Harry Fennell @ PAS
DESCRIPTION:Sky Atlas (IRL)Support from Harry Fennell \n\n\n\nPAS – 18.05.23Doors 19:30 \n\n\n\nSuggested donation. 10€ \n\n\n\nSky Atlas have an exciting year ahead as they commence on their first international tour spanning the UK and Germany.“Stunningly epic and atmospheric\, some of the finest musicians I’ve seen in a long time\, a band who certainly have the talent\, the look and the adoring fans to take them to soaring heights in the music world” HOT PRESS \n\n\n\nSince their formation five years ago\, Sky Atlas have a sound that is truly their own. Simultaneously drawing influence from folk\, shoegaze/noise\, and rock music has led them to develop a unique sonic footprint. While Sky Atlas isn’t an act that shies away from distortion-soaked haze\, the numbers that define this project are cinematic in scope\, determinedly pensive and often quite delicate in execution. There is an expanse and freshness to their sound that refuses to be defined. \n\n\n\nDescribed by Hot Press as being “surely on their way to becoming the next big thing on the Irish music scene”\, the quartet have become a mainstay in the Dublin scene and are excited to keep growing and to take their music to new heights as they work towards their debut album. Following an outstanding performance at Ireland Music Week 2022\, the band have just completed their first national tour promoting their latest single ‘Hollow Embrace’ (Nov 2022). They packed out 10 dates around the country from Dingle to Derry and were described after their Limerick show as a “masterful performance that teetered on the line of beautiful\, and a barely contained cacophony” (Limerick Voice 2022).

Voz de la Frontera’s ethereal melodies merge into an evocative\, organic and universal sound that transcends imaginations and boundaries.Giulia Impache’s voice meets Davide Vizio’s electronics to create suggestions and bring different sounds into dialogue. \n\n\n\nGiulia Impache: Voice\, fxDavide Vizio: Electronics \n\n\n\nhttps://salgarirecords.bandcamp.com/…/voz-de-la…https://salgarirecords.bandcamp.com/…/voz-de-la… \n\n\n\nPoligra (Migra & Polimnia)MigraMigra is the new solo project of Davide Vizio\, founder of the Salgari Records label\, andproducer of Nina Simmons & Voz De La Frontera.Migra is a journey through musical cultures\, a listening path that leads to distant places andtimes.Electronic productions\, hypnotic grooves and sounds that migrate like flocks over thecontinents of the world". \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPolimniaPOLIMNIA aka Bea Zanin is an italian producer and musician based in Turin. She released her first EP Me-Mo in November 2021 for Salgari Records. Sheworks on the contrast between the nostalgic sounds of european music of thefirst half of the 20th century and the rhythmic aesthetics of downtempo andorganic house. In search of the Italian-touch\, she would like to find a soundthat distinguishes the Italianness beyond all cliques. She writes and performsmusic for theater-dance and contemporary circus. \n\n\n\nhttps://salgarirecords.bandcamp.com/album/polimnia-me-mo-ephttps://www.instagram.com/polimnia_italiantouch/
