We focus on connecting and learning from all different genres and subsidiaries. Encouraging people from different musical backgrounds and contexts to interact with each other and create a curated framework for immediate composition in a live setting. Because we believe that improvisation can mean lifelong musical learning\, we want to view its ongoing practice and performance as an opportunity for the development of one’s “voice” and to create a regular offering for musicians* to keep trying themselves out in this laboratory and working community. We hope that in this way we can contribute to spreading this common respect for each other and the different approaches to improvisation in all of our respective “scenes” and enable fresh perspectives. The idea is not new\, of course\, but we want to perceive it anew. In the making of images (let them be musical or drawn) he exerts a continuous flow of letting go allowing for the mysteries of love\, swing and being to appear at the foot of the face of the other. \n\n\n\nJoel has been drawing/painting his whole life as a way of gesticulating movement and language and to connect and communicate emotion. Many of his images have been used for announcing concerts and recordings (Au Topsi Pohl\, Umlaut Records\, Hagenfesten\, Klub Demboh…). “At the foot of a face” is his first exhibition. You’ll see a selection of recent year’s oil painting and drawings. The section bears in mind and honors the recently passed away musician\, artist and writer Tristan Honsinger. As a bassist\, Joel Grip is active in groups reimagining and celebrating collective music: [ahmed]\, Vaka\, [ism]\, Oùat\, Klub Demboh\, Sapat\, and small ensembles with Sven-Åke Johansson.

How can one overcome such an ordeal? \n\n\n\nAs life was flowing on the edges of grief\, and as the three of them were playing together\, a conclusion slowly revealed : a burning lifeblood between them\, irrigating the grooves of their previous records\, which fascinated every audience attending their concerts or – dare one say – their happenings. Rien Virgule was still alive. Then came the urge to go back to work and make a third record. \n\n\n\nUnlike its title coming from a haiku (‘La Consolation des Violettes’\, ie. ‘The Solace of Violets’)\, a radically short form of poetry\, the album itself chooses to stretch its limbs\, to free itself from the innate constraints of a simple LP\, to spread its wings in order to attain an unprecedented stature. \n\n\n\nWhile one can recite a haiku within a breath\, the music of Rien Virgule unleashes a myriad of them. It is crafted by the different journeys of each of its members\, who staggered in the corridors of experimental music for a long time before delivering a very personal vision of pop music\, as White Noise did in their time. \n\n\n\nOne can understand the full extent of the band with the length of this record. Its perfectly blends\, thanks to its almost scientific\, precise sense of narration\, some written pieces on which one can swear to hear the melodic curls of Robert Wyatt\, and totally spontaneous jams. DESCRIPTION:Спектакль-концерт о последнем вечере на родине советского поэта Александра Галича и о месте России в мире словами русских писателей и мыслителей 19-20 веков. \n\n\n\n“…Галича смогли выгнать из страны\, но не смогли выгнать из истории…” \n\n\n\nВ 2019 году в Москве в библиотеке СТД вышел спектакль театра “Мастерская Брусникина” и независимых продюсеров Марии Синицыной и Елены Каменской по стенограмме исключения Галича из Союза писателей. Режиссеры – Игорь Титов\, он же исполнитель роли Галича\, и Сергей Карабань. Автор – Андрей Стадников. Спектакль с аншлагами шел до 2022 года\, был в лонг-листе “Золотой Маски”. В 2022 году часть труппы и авторов спектакля уехала из страны. \n\n\n\nВ 2023 году Игорь Титов и Андрей Стадников снова заходят на эту территорию и идут дальше. Новое высказывание – про прощание Галича с Советским Союзом. Жизнь Александра Галича\, его непростая писательская судьба дают много поводов для раздумий и театрального воплощения его биографии. Будучи в свое время системным драматургом и сценаристом\, он с течением времени переосмыслил советскую реальность в своих стихах и песнях\, стал диссидентом. И как следствие – был вынужден уехать из страны. \n\n\n\nСпектакль делится на 2 акта. Первый представляет собой очень вольную реконструкцию проводов Галича и его жены за границу\, их последнего дня в России. Во втором акте мы соединяем в одном пространстве знаковых персон разных времен – мыслителей\, поэтов\, писателей. DESCRIPTION:Спектакль-концерт о последнем вечере на родине советского поэта Александра Галича и о месте России в мире словами русских писателей и мыслителей 19-20 веков. \n\n\n\n“…Галича смогли выгнать из страны\, но не смогли выгнать из истории…” \n\n\n\nВ 2019 году в Москве в библиотеке СТД вышел спектакль театра “Мастерская Брусникина” и независимых продюсеров Марии Синицыной и Елены Каменской по стенограмме исключения Галича из Союза писателей. Режиссеры – Игорь Титов\, он же исполнитель роли Галича\, и Сергей Карабань. Автор – Андрей Стадников. Спектакль с аншлагами шел до 2022 года\, был в лонг-листе “Золотой Маски”. В 2022 году часть труппы и авторов спектакля уехала из страны. \n\n\n\nВ 2023 году Игорь Титов и Андрей Стадников снова заходят на эту территорию и идут дальше. Новое высказывание – про прощание Галича с Советским Союзом. Жизнь Александра Галича\, его непростая писательская судьба дают много поводов для раздумий и театрального воплощения его биографии. Будучи в свое время системным драматургом и сценаристом\, он с течением времени переосмыслил советскую реальность в своих стихах и песнях\, стал диссидентом. И как следствие – был вынужден уехать из страны. \n\n\n\nСпектакль делится на 2 акта. Первый представляет собой очень вольную реконструкцию проводов Галича и его жены за границу\, их последнего дня в России. Во втором акте мы соединяем в одном пространстве знаковых персон разных времен – мыслителей\, поэтов\, писателей. DESCRIPTION:At the foot of a face  \n\n\n\nOil paintings and drawings by Joel Grip  \n\n\n\n7.9 – 8.10 2023Petersburg Art SpaceKaiserin-Augusta-Allee 101\, 10553 Berlin Entrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1OG curated by Lena Czerniawska \n\n\n\nJoel Grip pushes the act of being in between radical and familiar rooms of thought and encounter. In the making of images (let them be musical or drawn) he exerts a continuous flow of letting go allowing for the mysteries of love\, swing and being to appear at the foot of the face of the other.  \n\n\n\nJoel has been drawing/painting his whole life as a way of gesticulating movement and language and to connect and communicate emotion. Many of his images have been used for announcing concerts and recordings (Au Topsi Pohl\, Umlaut Records\, Hagenfesten\, Klub Demboh…). “At the foot of a face” is his first exhibition. You’ll see a selection of recent year’s oil painting and drawings. The section bears in mind and honors the recently passed away musician\, artist and writer Tristan Honsinger. As a bassist\, Joel Grip is active in groups reimagining and celebrating collective music: [ahmed]\, Vaka\, [ism]\, Oùat\, Klub Demboh\, Sapat\, and small ensembles with Sven-Åke Johansson.
