Departing from the understanding of a carrier bag when it comes to narrative structures and storytelling (Le Guin)\, the artist invites you to take part in a collective effort to unpack individual experiences upon the tent\, whether by adding new elements or subtracting existing parts throughout the exhibition. \n\n\n\nThis tent\, the support for which is assembled using emptied food containers from Turkish restaurants\, represents a safe haven in times of life’s uncertainties\, heavy storms\, and especially in regards to migratory movements. While acknowledging a sacred space for our true selves with all that they carry within\, it simultaneously unravels safety’s ever-changing\, non-static\, multifaceted\, temporal nature. \n\n\n\nThe act of constructing and modifying the tent together is a testament to the power of communities\, personal journeys\, diverse narratives and of the resilience needed in a world that often pushes us to move on. My music is generally emo folk\, folk punk and anything that a sweet mandolin lick might accompany. \n\n\n\nVera Vishnevaya aka furrr is a Yerevan-based experimental musician\, filmmaker\, media and sound artist\, curator\, and a video stream host at s0r. In her solo musical output and dj-selections\, Vera combines dense soundscaping with offbeat rhythms. As an artist\, her work deals with collective memory and trauma\, taking the form of minimalistic yet elaborate sound installations. Lately\, Vera’s been actively researching local underground scenes\, putting out impressive line-ups for events and festivals\, as well as showcasing the talents via the video platform s0r. \n\n\n\nKay Khachatryan aka n y s t a g m u s is a sound artist\, relentless experimenter\, and an explorer of obscure sonic phenomena from Yerevan\, known for using field recordings and self-built devices to capture and manipulate sounds. His work focuses on preserving the authenticity of street and acoustic noises\, while exploring the timbre and psychological aspects of sound. A veteran of Yerevan’s underground\, Kay has been prolific in a wide range of underground genres — from raw punk-rock and metal to futuristic deconstruction of club music. \n\n\n\nWhen working together\, Vera and Kay deliver intuitive original performances using both acoustic and electronic instruments\, showcasing their atmosphere- and rhythm-building skills. Always mindful of the space and occasion\, the duo’s set can change from a deep drone session to a barrage of experimental bangers — and everything in between.

DESCRIPTION:Sonoro / exhibition of paintings and drawings by Geroco \n\n\n\nGaleria Majatów in Petersburg Art Space invites to the exhibition of paintings and drawings of Mexican artist Geroco. We will show paintings she did during improvised performances with experimental music\, sketches from the concerts and abstract impressions representing her genius approach to color. \n\n\n\nGeorgina Rodriguez\, known as Geroco\, was born in 1962 in Mexico City\, where she studied art at the National School of Plastic Arts (ENAP). Versatile in different techniques such as drawing\, watercolor\, oil\, tempera\, pastel and acrylic encuasto (technique that she developed and incorporate in her language)\, among others. Her work has been exhibited on an international scale in Heidelbergh\, Germany (DAI Museum and Galerie Graf)\, France (Cultural Arts Center of the Embassy of Mexico)\, as well as in the United States\, Guatemala and in galleries and museums around Mexico. Geroco is an active artis\, she is always recreating her style as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary projects. We focus on connecting and learning from all different genres and subsidiaries. Encouraging people from different musical backgrounds and contexts to interact with each other and create a curated framework for immediate composition in a live setting. Because we believe that improvisation can mean lifelong musical learning\, we want to view its ongoing practice and performance as an opportunity for the development of one’s “voice” and to create a regular offering for musicians* to keep trying themselves out in this laboratory and working community. We hope that in this way we can contribute to spreading this common respect for each other and the different approaches to improvisation in all of our respective “scenes” and enable fresh perspectives. The idea is not new\, of course\, but we want to perceive it anew. In the making of images (let them be musical or drawn) he exerts a continuous flow of letting go allowing for the mysteries of love\, swing and being to appear at the foot of the face of the other. \n\n\n\nJoel has been drawing/painting his whole life as a way of gesticulating movement and language and to connect and communicate emotion. Many of his images have been used for announcing concerts and recordings (Au Topsi Pohl\, Umlaut Records\, Hagenfesten\, Klub Demboh…). “At the foot of a face” is his first exhibition. You’ll see a selection of recent year’s oil painting and drawings. The section bears in mind and honors the recently passed away musician\, artist and writer Tristan Honsinger. As a bassist\, Joel Grip is active in groups reimagining and celebrating collective music: [ahmed]\, Vaka\, [ism]\, Oùat\, Klub Demboh\, Sapat\, and small ensembles with Sven-Åke Johansson.

How can one overcome such an ordeal? \n\n\n\nAs life was flowing on the edges of grief\, and as the three of them were playing together\, a conclusion slowly revealed : a burning lifeblood between them\, irrigating the grooves of their previous records\, which fascinated every audience attending their concerts or – dare one say – their happenings. Rien Virgule was still alive. Then came the urge to go back to work and make a third record. \n\n\n\nUnlike its title coming from a haiku (‘La Consolation des Violettes’\, ie. ‘The Solace of Violets’)\, a radically short form of poetry\, the album itself chooses to stretch its limbs\, to free itself from the innate constraints of a simple LP\, to spread its wings in order to attain an unprecedented stature. \n\n\n\nWhile one can recite a haiku within a breath\, the music of Rien Virgule unleashes a myriad of them. It is crafted by the different journeys of each of its members\, who staggered in the corridors of experimental music for a long time before delivering a very personal vision of pop music\, as White Noise did in their time. \n\n\n\nOne can understand the full extent of the band with the length of this record. Its perfectly blends\, thanks to its almost scientific\, precise sense of narration\, some written pieces on which one can swear to hear the melodic curls of Robert Wyatt\, and totally spontaneous jams. Those latter are cut then glued back so much\, likewise Teo Macero’s work for the records of Miles Davis\, that they tend to form fairy tales from a lab written with magnetic tape. \n\n\n\nJean-Marc\, and his noisy DIY instrumentarium\, gave its part of chaos to the other members of the band\, who are keeping on making a clutter made of metal and broken glass resonate\, as if they were sparks of life. ‘La Consolation des Violettes’ is a woven universe of travellings on the edge of ruin and poems drawn with a soldering iron\, possessed with an impetus of visceral liberty\, a vibrating and profoundly moving music. \n\n\n\nLINE-UPAnne Careil: vocals\, synthesizerMathias Pontevia: horizontal drumsManuel Duval : horizontal synthesizers

DESCRIPTION:SØVN records is proud to present a label showcase at PAS Berlin! The main guest will be Queimada\, whose ‘Mi Piel’ EP came out in on SØVN last year – The Wire described his music as ‘an exploration of surface tension’\, based on melted-down samples and field recordings. \n\n\n\nBefore him\, two of the label’s founders\, Guybrush and Andrea Bruera\, will perform new forward-looking music lying at the extremes of the label’s sounds – from Guybrush’s deep\, lush ambient textures to Andrea Bruera’s twisted\, experimental take on reggaeton. \n\n\n\nSØVN records is a music label focusing on small editions of avant-garde music. Moved by a DIY and down-to-earth ethos\, they’ve been out there in the wild for more than six years\, hand-crafting cassettes\, CDs and bizarre music-related artifacts – ever heard of a cassette trapped in a shell made of concrete\, or of a non-cassette? Their sounds cover a large ground\, encompassing free-spirited ambient (Machinefabriek\, Queimada\, Guybrush)\, improvised stringed instruments (Asger Thomsen\, Ido Bukelman\, Giorgio Sarno)\, live-coding techno (Graham Dunning)\, electro-exotica (Tereshkova)\, percussive experiments (Blood Room\, Dilian)\, electronica trips (Carlo Maria\, Acid Fountain\, Andrea Bruera).
