Oker has toured extensively in Europe and has released two records – Husene våre er museer\, released on SOFA music in 2018 and Susurrus\, released on Shhpuma in 2021 \n\n\n\nEntrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1OGDoors 20:00\, music a bit later

The focus is in the performance itself\, an exploration of noises and gestures. It is not a predetermined form that defines the performance but the performance itself that defines the form. Informal music with non-commercial propositions\, unconventional techniques\, unique instrumentations\, undefined structures\, within a collaborative\, egalitarian atmosphere\, firmly rejecting any discrimination\, violence and any type of hierarchies among organizers or artists. \n\n\n\nYou can reach PAS with U7 Mierendorfplatz | S41/42 Beuselstrasse | M10 Turmstrasse. You’ll find the entrance in the courtyard\, “Aufgang 2”\, 1st floor left.

SUMMARY:Neu Berlin Institute of Improvised Music vol. 6
DESCRIPTION:6th session of ‘Neu Berlin Institute of Improvised Music’:At the celebrated Petersburg Artspace The I n s t i t u t e is hosting a new improvisational session. We welcome you!In this case the opening group will be: \n\n\n\nEric bauer – objects & electronicsOnno Govaert – drumsIgnaz Schick – electronicsDan Peter Sundland – e bass \n\n\n\nAfter the opening group there will be put together sessions by the curator.Doors 20hConcert starts 20h30.Mission:By bringing together different practices of improvisation\, we strive to open up the often isolated situation of music scenes to each other and prevent a structural conservatism that exists in the field of improvisation. We focus on connecting and learning from all different genres and subsidiaries. Encouraging people from different musical backgrounds and contexts to interact with each other and create a curated framework for immediate composition in a live setting. Because we believe that improvisation can mean lifelong musical learning\, we want to view its ongoing practice and performance as an opportunity for the development of one’s “voice” and to create a regular offering for musicians* to keep trying themselves out in this laboratory and working community. We hope that in this way we can contribute to spreading this common respect for each other and the different approaches to improvisation in all of our respective “scenes” and enable fresh perspectives. The idea is not new\, of course\, but we want to perceive it anew. In our case we take the name away from an institution that was founded in Vienna in 2005 under the name ‘The Neu New York/Vienna Institute of Improvised Music’ by the now deceased saxophonist Marco Eneidi and still exists as ‘Monday Improvisers Session’ in Vienna.A warm invitation to you\, if you feel addressed\, and if you want to join this process as a listener!–MIIMKGraphic Design by Daphné Lejeune / https://lejeunedaphne.com/

Sleep is the free flow of psychic energy\, it is one of the many places where the unconscious\, in the form of desires and instincts\, often murky and unutterable\, manifests itself through dreams. What suggestions can the insertion of sounds generate in that liminal phase between sleep and wakefulness? What changes in us\, when we return to lucidity after sleeping accompanied by sounds? And how do sounds interact with dreaming? We might dream that we are listening to music that we believe to be in the dream\, we might dream that we are listening to music that we know to be real\, or the dream might distort/modulate the music and lead us into a more or less conscious listening experience that is impossible to gain in wakefulness.Altering the experience of sleep with music means searching for sensations that can become suggestions for wakefulness. Can we find creative stimuli by accompanying sleep with music? Perhaps we could even influence our unconscious\, dreamlike production through music.Certainly far from any scientific accuracy and completeness R E M – Music For Closed Eyes wants to be an invitation to a personal exploration of sleep and dreams\, altered by sounds\, in search of suggestions\, unusual mental states and even new awareness andinterpretations of psychic production. \n\n\n\n!!!! NEVER ENDING SOUND !!!! \n\n\n\nLineup / Running Order \n\n\n\n22 – 23 Matteo Stella – Anello Del Monte D’Aria23 – 24 Leo Leonardi00 – 01 Marco Colocci01 – 02 Mizuki02 – 03 Tuce Alba03 – 04.30 Paolo Possidente04:30 – 06 Moo1706 – 08 stinkymate \n\n\n\nYou can reach us with U7 Mierendorfplatz | S41/42 Beuselstrasse | M10 Turmstrasse. \n\n\n\nYou’ll find the entrance in the courtyard\, “Aufgang 2”\, 1st floor left. \n\n\n\nFor any further info don’t hesitate to contact us.

DESCRIPTION:Monday concert: \n\n\n\nThoughts of Trio:Aidan Baker – guitar\, bassHan-Earl Park – guitarKatharina Schmidt – drums\, percussion \n\n\n\nPeter Knight – piano\, electronicsTizia Zimmermann – accordionKamil Piotrowicz – trumpet\, electronics \n\n\n\nEntrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1OGDoors 20:00\, music a bit later. \n\n\n\nmore info:Thoughts of Trio is a new Berlin-based group featuring Aidan Baker on guitar/bass\, Han-earl Park on guitar\, & Katharina Schmidt on drums/percussion. The trio explores the intersections of ambient music\, improvisational jazz\, and musique-concrète. \n\n\n\nhttps://aidanbaker.bandcamp.com/https://katharinaschmidt.bandcamp.com/https://hanearlpark.bandcamp.com/ \n\n\n\nKamil Piotrowicz (1992) – pianist\, composer\, founder of Idealistic Festival and independent label Howard Records. He is a leader and member of the Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet\, HAŁVVA\, Wojtczak / Piotrowicz\, Lawaai\, The President. His approach to the piano is characterised by meticulous technique\, maximalist minimalism\, virtuosity and emotionality. Kamil performed in the USA\, Europe and in South Africa. He worked with Jaimie Branch\, Christian Lillinger\, Tim Berne\, Jacob Anderskov\, Lotte Anker\, Timothée Quost or Jan Młynarski. Kamil graduated with honours from the composition class of Professor Leszek Kułakowski at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk and from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. He is currently studying the Soloist Program at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Aarhus\, Denmark. \n\n\n\nTizia ZimmermannFrom barely audible noises\, quiet beatings\, the breathing of the bellows to massive\, full sounds and nervous\, angular sounds\, everything can be found in the energetic playing of the accordionist. Improvisationally she illuminates her instrument from different sides. Sometimes the sounds stand naked in space\, sometimes they are superimposed and layered until it sounds orchestral. She juxtaposes economy with abundance and control with loss of control. \n\n\n\nPerpetually curious\, Peter Knight’s practice exists in the spaces between categories\, between genres\, and between cultures. \n\n\n\nIn recent years Peter has emerged as a significant international force in contemporary music\, initiating commissions\, collaborations\, and performances with a diverse range of artists including recently\, Anthony Braxton (USA)\, as a soloist with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra\, Nicole Lizée (Canada)\, Amir ElSaffar (USA)\, Daniel Wilfred (Arnhem Land)\, Senyawa (Indonesia)\, Baliphonics (Sri Lanka)\, Hyelim Kim (Korea/UK)\, Paul Grabowsky (Australia) and Alvin Lucier (USA). \n\n\n\nHe has performed his music at some of the most significant festivals and venues in the world including recently: Jeonju International Sori Festival Korea\, London Jazz Festival\, Pierre Boulez Saal (Berlin)\, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (hcmf//)\, JazzFest Berlin\, Soundstreams (Toronto)\, and National Forum of Music (Wroclaw\, Poland). From 2013 – 2023 Peter was the Artistic Director/co-CEO of Australia’s leading contemporary music ensemble\, the Australian Art Orchestra. Under his leadership the organisation thrived winning multiple awards and accolades. \n\n\n\nPeter has released 18 albums of his music on various labels including in 2022 a soloalbum\, Shadow Phase\, on the iconic ROOM40 label. SUMMARY:Jessie Monk Continually Becoming - ALBUM RELEASE SHOW
DESCRIPTION:Continually Becoming – ALBUM RELEASE SHOWw/ Fabiana Striffler\, Paul Santner\, Conor Cunningham and FriendsSupport from : Mark Loughrey \n\n\n\nThe horizon is finally visable. Land ahoy\, sea fairing Pirates of Berlin\, wading through the evenin’s entropic epoch in search of meaningless meaning in a culture as chaotic as an incorrigable carousel. \n\n\n\nLet us gather together in our CONTINUAL BECOMING\, under a waxing moon\, in the echoes of Samhain\, to light the fire of Continually Becoming’s birth in a raucous\, celebratory souiree featuring some of Berlin’s finest magicians and priestesses. \n\n\n\nJessie Monk’s debut LP ( – out on October 27th ) features the songs of her first few years encountering the dragon Berlin in an archatypal coming-of-age myth. Featuring some monastic classics like What’ll You Be\, Gets Me Down and Mistook You For A Man\, Jessie and the Monk’s will play the album in its full\, live\, for the first time\, inviting some special guests to join their mythic quartet \n\n\n\nJessie Monk – Vox\, guitar\, compositionsFabiana Striffler – Violin\, Mandolin\, VoxPaul Santner – Bass\, Guitar\, Trumpet\, VoxConor Cunningham – Flute\, Clarinet\, Whistle\, VoxSpecial Guests – To Be Announced \n\n\n\nMARK LOUGHREY – SUPPORT \n\n\n\nMark and his eccentric ensemble will play\, totally overqualified for the role\, to begin the ceremony. Mark weaves with traditional threads and takes sea fairing pirates on an avant folk adventure\, leaving clues like an easter egg hunt in his incredibly witty\, wistful and wisdom-filled lyrics that attack the heart unapologetically from all angles. You’ll fall to pieces in one moment\, stomp your feet in the next and scream anarchicly along in another. \n\n\n\nTHEME:dress in samhain/halloween/atumnal vibes and lets celebrate the descent into the darkness of winter in style. \n\n\n\nDoors:8pmMusic:8:30pm – Sharp \n\n\n\nEvent poster: druid man – James M Dragovic

SUMMARY:Ballrogg at PAS: Klaus Ellerhusen Holm / Roger Arntzen / David Stackenäs
DESCRIPTION:2 November | 20:00Entrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1OG \n\n\n\nBallrogg:Klaus Ellerhusen Holm – Alto sax\, clarinet and compositionRoger Arntzen – Double bassDavid Stackenäs – Guitars \n\n\n\nAt first\, the Norwegian trio Ballrogg was a duo formed by reedist Klaus Ellerhusen Holm (Honest John\, Large Unit) and double bassist Roger Arntzen (In the Country\, Chrome Hill)\, then later expanded with guitarist Ivar Grydeland\, who through two albums added a country & western flavor to the mix and placed Ballrogg’s music as “free chamber americana”. Now the sublimely versatile Swedish guitarist David Stackenäs (Kim Myhr You|Me\, Sol Sol) has taken Grydeland’s place and sounds right at home on Rolling Ball. \n\n\n\nAs Peter Margasak says in the liner notes: It’s Stackenäs’s debut recording with Ballrogg\, but he’s lived with the music well before joining in 2017. Over the years Stackenäs has gamely filled in\, subtly incorporating his own lyric aesthetic within arrangements crafted without him. Paradoxically\, while the music on Rolling Ball registers as Ballrogg’s most compact and controlled endeavour thus far\, it also feels its most liberated expression as well. The arrangements bring a contrapuntal splendor to these bucolic melodies\, with each instrumental line woven into an exquisite lattice of meditative beauty. The astonishing fluidity is what makes the music of Ballrogg so special. The road ahead feels more open than ever\, suggesting the titular notion of a ball moving forward according to gravity and landscape. Ballrogg create those conditions for momentum\, but the magical quality is that it all feels like an act of nature.” \n\n\n\n“Ballrogg distances itself from traditional improv while shunning excessive extrovertism and friendliness. This allows for considerable friction.”– Jazz in Norway (NO) \n\n\n\n“The ability of the North European scene to reinvent «American classical music» and even to reinvent the American folk roots is legendary\, and here we have one precious example.” – Clean Feed (PT)__________________________________ \n\n\n\nKlaus Ellerhusen HolmAlto sax\, clarinet and composition \n\n\n\nHolm studied music at the jazz department of the Trondheim Music Conservatory from 2000-2004. Currently located in Trondheim and working in the field of improvised music and the outer regions of jazz. Enjoying and triving in a number of different settings within this environment. \n\n\n\nIn recent years he has been most active within groups such as Large Unit\, Ballrogg\, Honest John\, duo with David Stäckenas and Trondheim jazzorchestra. He has also collaborated\, in different ad hoc settings with: Mats Äleklint\, Johan Berthling\, Xavier Charles\, Jim Denley\, Axel Dörner\, Michael Duch\, John Edwards\, Sture Ericson\, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten\, Ivar Grydeland\, Paal Nielssen Love\, Ole Henrik Moe\, Kim Myhr\, John Russell\, Christian Wallumrød\, Stian Westerhus\, Joe Williamson\, Ingar Zach and Per Zanussi. \n\n\n\nHolm has been playing concerts in 17 countries and in the recent years he has also composed music for various chamber music settings and also music for film.__________________________________ \n\n\n\nRoger ArntzenDouble bass \n\n\n\nArntzen is known from the In the Country\, who started out as an alt. prog jazz piano trio and was awarded “Young Jazz Musicians Of The Year” early on in Norway. The trio has released eight albums on labels such as ACT\, Rune Grammofon and Grappa\, all of them to much critical acclaim. Two of the albums was also nominated for the Norwegian “Grammy”. Arntzen is also a regular member of Trail Of Souls\, where In the Country makes the rhythm section and Singer Solveig Slettahjell and guitarist Knut Reiersrud full-fills the quintet. Arntzen is also a regular together with Motif-saxophonist Atle Nymo with the rock-jazz-quartet Chrome Hill. He has worked with international artists such as downtown NYC icon Marc Ribot\, Bob Hoffnar\, BJ Cole\, Neil Metcalfe\, Terry Day\, John Russell\, Frode Grytten\, Susanna Wallumrd\, Frida Ånnevik\, Stian Carstensen among others. Departing from the understanding of a carrier bag when it comes to narrative structures and storytelling (Le Guin)\, the artist invites you to take part in a collective effort to unpack individual experiences upon the tent\, whether by adding new elements or subtracting existing parts throughout the exhibition. \n\n\n\nThis tent\, the support for which is assembled using emptied food containers from Turkish restaurants\, represents a safe haven in times of life’s uncertainties\, heavy storms\, and especially in regards to migratory movements. While acknowledging a sacred space for our true selves with all that they carry within\, it simultaneously unravels safety’s ever-changing\, non-static\, multifaceted\, temporal nature. \n\n\n\nThe act of constructing and modifying the tent together is a testament to the power of communities\, personal journeys\, diverse narratives and of the resilience needed in a world that often pushes us to move on. Conversely\, in also inviting to deconstruct the tent spread over time\, idil underlines the impermanence of stories and places\, as a way to hold agency upon transforming and letting go structures that no longer serve us. As a way to reach what holds a chance at being ephemeral. \n\n\n\nThe tent bears an embodiment for our intimate narratives\, as much as for the collective wisdom joining us in our endeavor\, where and however it may be. \n\n\n\nBmccratBailey McCartyHello\, I am bailey! My music is generally emo folk\, folk punk and anything that a sweet mandolin lick might accompany. \n\n\n\nVera Vishnevaya aka furrr is a Yerevan-based experimental musician\, filmmaker\, media and sound artist\, curator\, and a video stream host at s0r. In her solo musical output and dj-selections\, Vera combines dense soundscaping with offbeat rhythms. As an artist\, her work deals with collective memory and trauma\, taking the form of minimalistic yet elaborate sound installations. Lately\, Vera’s been actively researching local underground scenes\, putting out impressive line-ups for events and festivals\, as well as showcasing the talents via the video platform s0r. \n\n\n\nKay Khachatryan aka n y s t a g m u s is a sound artist\, relentless experimenter\, and an explorer of obscure sonic phenomena from Yerevan\, known for using field recordings and self-built devices to capture and manipulate sounds. His work focuses on preserving the authenticity of street and acoustic noises\, while exploring the timbre and psychological aspects of sound. A veteran of Yerevan’s underground\, Kay has been prolific in a wide range of underground genres — from raw punk-rock and metal to futuristic deconstruction of club music. \n\n\n\nWhen working together\, Vera and Kay deliver intuitive original performances using both acoustic and electronic instruments\, showcasing their atmosphere- and rhythm-building skills. Always mindful of the space and occasion\, the duo’s set can change from a deep drone session to a barrage of experimental bangers — and everything in between.
