DESCRIPTION:Quentin Tolimieri / Eric Wong – Music of Erasure \n\n\n\nThe music of Tolimieri/Wong is a music of erasure. Specifically\, they are attempting to remove various syntactical structures from their work\, for example melody\, harmony\, gesture\, and formal development. The impetus for this removal is a desire to evade the historical models that these syntactical structures force upon the listener and that serve\, in a sense\, to obscure the “sound-in-and-of-itself” (if such a thing exists) of the sonic object. The results of this removal is a music that is extremely minimal and reduced\, closer to a kind of sound sculpture than to traditional concert music. \n\n\n\nTolimieri/Wong consists of pianist Quentin Tolimieri and electric guitarist Eric Wong\, both of whom\, in the context of this project\, work with digital synthesis as well. A BURIAL AT SEA (Ireland) & ARMS AND SLEEPERS (USA) — Live Band Show \n\n\n\n– – – \n\n\n\nInimitable post-rock outsiders A Burial At Sea have announced their second full-length album\, ‘Closer To Home’\, set for release on the 23rd of February\, 2024 via Berlin’s Pelagic Records. Irish-born\, A Burial At Sea made waves in 2018 when\, bursting with bombastic creativity\, the ‘…And The Sum Of Its Parts’ EP turned the traditionally austere post-rock frown upside down. A Burial At Sea subsequently spent months on tour in support\, honing their incendiary craft and gaining a loyal fan base across Europe in the process\, playing in festivals such as Dunk! (BE)\, Colossal (DK)\, ArcTanGent (GB) and Bergmal (SW).rom these performances they have gained a tour support for And So I Watch You From Afar\, and local supports shows for Caspian\, Tera Melos and This Will Destroy You.The 2020 bombastic self-titled\, released with Moment of Collapse\, draws from everything from emo\, to math-rock\, to hardcore punk\, and even black metal. The band were finding their feet during the first record but their new album “Close to Home” has shown that they solidified their sound\, with their songs sounding they have been approached with maturity and precision. \n\n\n\n+ \n\n\n\nFormed in 2006 in Boston\, Massachusetts and now based in Berlin\, Arms and Sleepers is the electronic trip hop project of producer Mirza Ramic (formerly a duo with Max Lewis)\, who has subsequently released 13 full albums and 20 EPs of glitched-out grooves that take as much inspiration from leftfield hip hop experimentalism as they do from the slowburn ambience and panoramic euphoria of contemporary post-rock. Latest album ‘What Tomorrow Brings’ was released on 01 March 2024 via Pelagic Records\, and Ramic will be bringing a live band for shows across Europe in April and May to play new material as well as songs from ‘Matador’ (15th anniversary) and ‘Swim Team’ (10th anniversary). Long-time live drummer Andrew G Nault (Lesser Glow) and frequent collaborator Sofia Insua (Easy Easy) will be joining Ramic for this string of shows\, which include appearances at Roadburn Festival and Dunk! We focus on connecting and learning from all different genres and subsidiaries. Encouraging people from different musical backgrounds and contexts to interact with each other and create a curated framework for immediate composition in a live setting. Because we believe that improvisation can mean lifelong musical learning\, we want to view its ongoing practice and performance as an opportunity for the development of one’s “voice” and to create a regular offering for musicians* to keep trying themselves out in this laboratory and working community. We hope that in this way we can contribute to spreading this common respect for each other and the different approaches to improvisation in all of our respective “scenes” and enable fresh perspectives. The idea is not new\, of course\, but we want to perceive it anew. Force Feedback had become entangled in the tapes gushing sharp digital snares. After Reyetto Tapes selection. On Sunday\, April 14\, you can find our interferences in @pas_berlin \n\n\n\n@hyiils is a project based in Rome: dystopian and futuristic ambient with appearances of voices and improvised objects.
