SUMMARY:Silences Delays Vortices 4
DESCRIPTION:Dora Bleu & Cedrik Fermont + Stina Nilsson and Dan Peter Sundland + Edith Steyer Solo \n\n\n\nDora Bleu & Cedrik Fermont create dreamlike atmospheres that explore imperialized psychic struggles against reproducing colonial realities. Together with Periklis Tsoukalas\, their trio has recently created an emotionally intense being of sound\, tone\, noise\, music and voice\, set to arrive on the Syrphe label at the end of this year.Dora has worked with a variety of musicians such as Sam Shalabi and Marc Ribot\, and has been performing and touring for over 20 years. Cedrik Fermont (also known as C-drík Fermont or Kirdec) is a former student of electro-acoustic composer Annette Vande Gorne (Royal Conservatory of Mons\, Belgium). In 2017\, he was co-awarded the prestigious Golden Nica Prix Ars Electronica in digital musics and sound art.Trio (from the forthcoming 2024 release):https://soundcloud.com/dora-bleu/lion-and-mouseDora: https://dorableu.wixsite.com/dorableuCedrik: http://syrphe.com/c-drik.html \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStina Nilsson and Dan Peter Sundland\, two well-established improvisers of their individual fields\, blend their sounds and movements together in a unique expression. In noise and silence\, stillness and activity\, their interplay creates distinct and unexpected images and soundscapes. \n\n\n\nStina Nilsson is a dancer and improviser. Her artistic practice is based on site speific work and interdisciplinary collaborations ranging from solo works to larger collectives and groups. Her movement practice is based on somatic practices\, meditation\, breath work and different improvisation practices that she developed. At the beginning of the 2010’s Stina was active in the Berlin scene for improvised dance and music.\Since 2017\, Stina is based in Jönköping\, Sweden\, where she is an organizer and initiator of the alternative performing arts scene. Stina received one year working grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee in 2018 and 2022. \n\n\n\nDan Peter Sundland is a unique electric bass player and composer active in the jazz and improvising scenes in Norway and Berlin. His playing is set apart by his expressive\, wide ranging playing techniques\, including cello-like bowing and a varied palette of percussive colours. His discography includes compositional work for his own eleven-piece Elevenette\, the Berlin based improvising quartet Home Stretch and sideman work and collective groups including Lina Allemano’s Ohrenschmaus\, Simon Kanzler’s hardcore opera and singer-songwriter Port Almond. \n\n\n\n«Dan Peter Sundland is simply outrageous on the electric bass. Words aren’t enough. You have to see him play!»- Kresten Osgood \n\n\n\nEdith Steyer is currently working on her solo concept for the clarinet. She not only uses extended techniques on her instruments\, but also preparations and electronic devices .Steyer is a free improvising and composing clarinet and saxophone player with her roots in jazz and classical music. As a former student for social anthropology she is also interested in ethnic music. She is dedicated to the exploration of her instruments and prepares them with music tools and elements from every day life. She also experiments and combines the prepared instruments with electronic devices and feedback. Aside from working on a solo concept\, her foremost interest is to create intelligently woven nets of interaction and noisy sound scapes with other artists.hhtps://www.edith-steyer.de

SUMMARY:DANCE at PASAn evening of movement and sound by Anna Barth + Thomas von Arx / Nicola Bullock / Jessica Gaynor + Quentin Tolimieri + Eric Wong
DESCRIPTION:DANCE at PAS An evening of movement and sound by Anna Barth + Thomas von Arx / Nicola Bullock / Jessica Gaynor + Quentin Tolimieri + Eric Wong 26th January 2025 Doors open at 19:30 performances start at 20:00 Entrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1 OG . . . . . . . Space_Time ::: Dance Concrete _ At the intersection of Improvisation + Butoh  Dance – Anna Barth Sound_Scape – Thomas von Arx\, div. sound material Anna Barth is a freelance dancer and artistic director of the TanzArt Labor Berlin. At the intersection of Improvisation and Butoh Anna explores the existential realities and possibilities inscribed in the body and its memory. Thomas von Arx is a visual artist\, craftsman and long-term collaborator / co-creator of the dance work of Anna Barth as performance_stage and sound_artist. Whiplash Ballad Choreography and Performance – Nicola Bullock A sensory meditation on loss and recovery\, this piece traces the visceral experience of grief\, where cataclysm collides with fleeting moments of surrender. Through shifting intensities\, it explores how grief shapes the body and movement as the earth beneath us quakes. Movement + Sound Dance – Jessica Gaynor Melodica/Electronics – Quentin Tolimieri Guitar/Electronics – Eric Wong Movement + Sound is an improvised dance and music collective. Focused on extreme reductionism of material and form\, the dance and music coexist without direct correlation between each other\, allowing for a space that is open ended to allow for unexpected relationships and synchronicities to arise between the dancer and musicians throughout the course of a performance. *Cover photo credit: Anna Barth\, Videostill by Thomas Roth
