SUMMARY:Water\, electricity and windows — Francisco Irribarra / opening night / exhibition of photography
DESCRIPTION:Water\, electricity and windows — Francisco Irribarra / opening night / exhibition of photography Galeria Majatów presents an exhibition of analog black-and-white photography by Chilean artist Francisco Irribarra. Transported to South America for a moment\, we will look at the Chilean landscape through the lens of Francisco’s camera. And there almost nothing will happen\, nothing more than the restlessness of the trees\, the wind-wrinkled moments\, until we are blinded by a sun quite different from the one here. Here\, in fact\, that is\, where? Here\, where the water flows with a different current\, the electricity has a disturbingly similar voltage\, and the windows open inward. / Lena Czerniawska \n\n\n\nYou can visit the exhibition from 26th of May till 16th of June during the events in PAS. \n\n\n\nMore about the artist: \n\n\n\nFrancisco Irribarra (33) was Born in Concepcion in The Bio-Bio Region\, Chile. Francisco Studied Industrial Engineer. After the studies he moved to Santiago de Chile to Study Cinema. In the film school he started to shoot 16mm film and he got interested in the elasticity of the support. The lack of infrastructure in Chile lead him to experiment and discover his own personal process that always arise from DIY methods resulting into the study of the motion picture film as a support to expand the idea of cinema and painting. Francisco Started to paint on film in the year of 2016 and After shooting his first film in 2017 as a director of photography he started to paint on 16mm film more seriously hanging film in his apartment in Santigo to paint long strips of film as a manner of canvas to project his paintings in garage basements and in cinemas around Santiago. In the beginning of 2019 Francisco moved to Prague in Czech Republic where he spent his days painting mostly with oil on canvas\, that process ended up in the result of transferring all the ideas he got into hand painted oil Super8mm film called ‚Long days gone’ an abstract film that follows oil paintings and portraits. In 2020 Francisco moves to Rotterdam to start an Artist residency in Worm Pirate Bay\, where he work in a experimental film lab diving deeper into the optical printing\, contact printing and optical sound and trough that using the possibilities of light to add more density and different layers to the film\, immerse into that process and in the middle of a pandemic he start the beginning of a series of 16mm paintings called Prophetical Screams\, after to finish his art residency he projected his film in 2 cinemas in The Netherlands\, Filmhuis Cavia in Amsterdam and Worm Rotterdam\, concluding that process he moves to Berlin to continue his process of experimentation and mixing between light and pigments\, now based in Berlin Francisco is focused primarily on hand painted 16mm film paintings\, oil collage paintings and 35mm black and white paper prints.

SUMMARY:„Stills“ Solo Exhibition by Anika Krbetschek
DESCRIPTION:„Stills“ Solo Exhibition by Anika Krbetschekwill be displayed at PAS from 19.01. 8pm on \n\n\n\nAbout the Artist:„Anika Krbetschek‘s artistic practice is an in-depth investigation of internal psychic phenomena and their impact on an individual’s sensation and perception. With that\, she operates within a fundamental interest in the strangeness of sensation and perception\, as well as in relation to a societal system and justice discourses. She does not only questions the label “illness” for inner psychic experiences but also artistically transcends the concept of boundaries\, treating them rather as a continuum of human experiences\, while reflecting the role of contemporary art in addressing issues of identity\, perception\, and social inclusion.“ Written by Silvia Russo – @silviar49 \n\n\n\nSpace curator: @jojiijathank you and @t.w.trashley for inviting me! \n\n\n\nExhibition opened during the events in the space. Departing from the understanding of a carrier bag when it comes to narrative structures and storytelling (Le Guin)\, the artist invites you to take part in a collective effort to unpack individual experiences upon the tent\, whether by adding new elements or subtracting existing parts throughout the exhibition. \n\n\n\nThis tent\, the support for which is assembled using emptied food containers from Turkish restaurants\, represents a safe haven in times of life’s uncertainties\, heavy storms\, and especially in regards to migratory movements. While acknowledging a sacred space for our true selves with all that they carry within\, it simultaneously unravels safety’s ever-changing\, non-static\, multifaceted\, temporal nature. \n\n\n\nThe act of constructing and modifying the tent together is a testament to the power of communities\, personal journeys\, diverse narratives and of the resilience needed in a world that often pushes us to move on. Conversely\, in also inviting to deconstruct the tent spread over time\, idil underlines the impermanence of stories and places\, as a way to hold agency upon transforming and letting go structures that no longer serve us. As a way to reach what holds a chance at being ephemeral. \n\n\n\nThe tent bears an embodiment for our intimate narratives\, as much as for the collective wisdom joining us in our endeavor\, where and however it may be. \n\n\n\nBmccratBailey McCartyHello\, I am bailey! My music is generally emo folk\, folk punk and anything that a sweet mandolin lick might accompany. \n\n\n\nVera Vishnevaya aka furrr is a Yerevan-based experimental musician\, filmmaker\, media and sound artist\, curator\, and a video stream host at s0r. In her solo musical output and dj-selections\, Vera combines dense soundscaping with offbeat rhythms. As an artist\, her work deals with collective memory and trauma\, taking the form of minimalistic yet elaborate sound installations. Lately\, Vera’s been actively researching local underground scenes\, putting out impressive line-ups for events and festivals\, as well as showcasing the talents via the video platform s0r. \n\n\n\nKay Khachatryan aka n y s t a g m u s is a sound artist\, relentless experimenter\, and an explorer of obscure sonic phenomena from Yerevan\, known for using field recordings and self-built devices to capture and manipulate sounds. His work focuses on preserving the authenticity of street and acoustic noises\, while exploring the timbre and psychological aspects of sound. A veteran of Yerevan’s underground\, Kay has been prolific in a wide range of underground genres — from raw punk-rock and metal to futuristic deconstruction of club music. \n\n\n\nWhen working together\, Vera and Kay deliver intuitive original performances using both acoustic and electronic instruments\, showcasing their atmosphere- and rhythm-building skills. Always mindful of the space and occasion\, the duo’s set can change from a deep drone session to a barrage of experimental bangers — and everything in between.
