DESCRIPTION:9 June\, 19:30Monday concert: \n\n\n\nduo:Eric Bauer – guitar\, electronicsAlexander Markvart – guitar\, objects \n\n\n\nduo:Elena Hizaar – perfromanceSofya Shaikut – perfromance“The Hen Who Dreamed of Knife” is a surreal movement performance inspired by Marc Chagall’s paintings of chickens and his dreamlike visual language. \n\n\n\nmore info:Performance “The Hen Who Dreamed of Knife” is a surreal movement performance inspired by Marc Chagall’s paintings of chickens and his dreamlike visual language. The performers embody hens as mythical\, haunted creatures caught between absurdity and poetic rebellion. \n\n\n\nLayered with clumsy grace\, bird-like twitching\, and ritualistic gestures\, the performance weaves a fragile world where femininity\, hysteria\, and humor coexist. \n\n\n\nThrough repetition and fragmentation\, the hens become carriers of something both sacred and ridiculous — a flock that remembers something we tried to forget. \n\n\n\nDuration of the performance: 15min \n\n\n\nentrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1OGDoors 19:30\, start 20:30

SUMMARY:Petar Martić at PAS
DESCRIPTION:16 May\, 20:00Petar Martić\, the Serbian multi-genre artist known for his eclectic musical approach\, will take the stage at PAS on May 16 for a double release show. The night will feature live performances of his debut EP Blok Pop\, released last November\, alongside his freshest EP Cafe Bar Almira\, featuring a blend of dark jazz\, trip-hop\, outsider pop\, and world music. The show will also include hidden and not-so-hidden gems from his extensive catalog and DJ set afterwards. \n\n\n\nThis will be his first solo performance in Berlin. With more than a decade of experience across various projects and performances—including punk shows in Russia\, rap gigs in Europe\, and DJ sets in Asia – Petar continues to push boundaries\, carving out new ground in both the Balkan and European indie scenes. \n\n\n\nAnd the concert will be opened by Berlin-based artist SUCKMYWAV\, who attracts attention with his cross-genre productions. His sound combines elements of UK garage\, UK drill and jazz to create a raw\, unpredictable and fresh style. \n\n\n\n16.05.

SUMMARY:DANCE at PASAn evening of movement and sound by Anna Barth + Thomas von Arx / Nicola Bullock / Jessica Gaynor + Quentin Tolimieri + Eric Wong
DESCRIPTION:DANCE at PAS An evening of movement and sound by Anna Barth + Thomas von Arx / Nicola Bullock / Jessica Gaynor + Quentin Tolimieri + Eric Wong 26th January 2025 Doors open at 19:30 performances start at 20:00 Entrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1 OG . . . . . . . Space_Time ::: Dance Concrete _ At the intersection of Improvisation + Butoh  Dance – Anna Barth Sound_Scape – Thomas von Arx\, div. sound material Anna Barth is a freelance dancer and artistic director of the TanzArt Labor Berlin. At the intersection of Improvisation and Butoh Anna explores the existential realities and possibilities inscribed in the body and its memory. Thomas von Arx is a visual artist\, craftsman and long-term collaborator / co-creator of the dance work of Anna Barth as performance_stage and sound_artist. Whiplash Ballad Choreography and Performance – Nicola Bullock A sensory meditation on loss and recovery\, this piece traces the visceral experience of grief\, where cataclysm collides with fleeting moments of surrender. Through shifting intensities\, it explores how grief shapes the body and movement as the earth beneath us quakes. Movement + Sound Dance – Jessica Gaynor Melodica/Electronics – Quentin Tolimieri Guitar/Electronics – Eric Wong Movement + Sound is an improvised dance and music collective. Focused on extreme reductionism of material and form\, the dance and music coexist without direct correlation between each other\, allowing for a space that is open ended to allow for unexpected relationships and synchronicities to arise between the dancer and musicians throughout the course of a performance. *Cover photo credit: Anna Barth\, Videostill by Thomas Roth

The legend says that they come back to appear in the dreams of men who betrayed them. Men who created wars\, spreaded lies\, stoled lands\, raped\, killed and put in chains.During 19th century\, many men wrote ballets piéces inspired by these supernatural creatures\, where unequivocably beautiful women were dancing in pure\, graceful\, white dresses. All for the eyes of greedy\, plased men.But\, maybe\, Sylphids are not pure\, neither graceful or beautiful. Departing from the understanding of a carrier bag when it comes to narrative structures and storytelling (Le Guin)\, the artist invites you to take part in a collective effort to unpack individual experiences upon the tent\, whether by adding new elements or subtracting existing parts throughout the exhibition. \n\n\n\nThis tent\, the support for which is assembled using emptied food containers from Turkish restaurants\, represents a safe haven in times of life’s uncertainties\, heavy storms\, and especially in regards to migratory movements. While acknowledging a sacred space for our true selves with all that they carry within\, it simultaneously unravels safety’s ever-changing\, non-static\, multifaceted\, temporal nature. \n\n\n\nThe act of constructing and modifying the tent together is a testament to the power of communities\, personal journeys\, diverse narratives and of the resilience needed in a world that often pushes us to move on. Conversely\, in also inviting to deconstruct the tent spread over time\, idil underlines the impermanence of stories and places\, as a way to hold agency upon transforming and letting go structures that no longer serve us. As a way to reach what holds a chance at being ephemeral. \n\n\n\nThe tent bears an embodiment for our intimate narratives\, as much as for the collective wisdom joining us in our endeavor\, where and however it may be. \n\n\n\nBmccratBailey McCartyHello\, I am bailey! My music is generally emo folk\, folk punk and anything that a sweet mandolin lick might accompany. \n\n\n\nVera Vishnevaya aka furrr is a Yerevan-based experimental musician\, filmmaker\, media and sound artist\, curator\, and a video stream host at s0r. In her solo musical output and dj-selections\, Vera combines dense soundscaping with offbeat rhythms. As an artist\, her work deals with collective memory and trauma\, taking the form of minimalistic yet elaborate sound installations. Lately\, Vera’s been actively researching local underground scenes\, putting out impressive line-ups for events and festivals\, as well as showcasing the talents via the video platform s0r. \n\n\n\nKay Khachatryan aka n y s t a g m u s is a sound artist\, relentless experimenter\, and an explorer of obscure sonic phenomena from Yerevan\, known for using field recordings and self-built devices to capture and manipulate sounds. His work focuses on preserving the authenticity of street and acoustic noises\, while exploring the timbre and psychological aspects of sound. A veteran of Yerevan’s underground\, Kay has been prolific in a wide range of underground genres — from raw punk-rock and metal to futuristic deconstruction of club music. \n\n\n\nWhen working together\, Vera and Kay deliver intuitive original performances using both acoustic and electronic instruments\, showcasing their atmosphere- and rhythm-building skills. Always mindful of the space and occasion\, the duo’s set can change from a deep drone session to a barrage of experimental bangers — and everything in between.

How can one overcome such an ordeal? \n\n\n\nAs life was flowing on the edges of grief\, and as the three of them were playing together\, a conclusion slowly revealed : a burning lifeblood between them\, irrigating the grooves of their previous records\, which fascinated every audience attending their concerts or – dare one say – their happenings. Rien Virgule was still alive. Then came the urge to go back to work and make a third record. \n\n\n\nUnlike its title coming from a haiku (‘La Consolation des Violettes’\, ie. ‘The Solace of Violets’)\, a radically short form of poetry\, the album itself chooses to stretch its limbs\, to free itself from the innate constraints of a simple LP\, to spread its wings in order to attain an unprecedented stature. \n\n\n\nWhile one can recite a haiku within a breath\, the music of Rien Virgule unleashes a myriad of them. It is crafted by the different journeys of each of its members\, who staggered in the corridors of experimental music for a long time before delivering a very personal vision of pop music\, as White Noise did in their time. \n\n\n\nOne can understand the full extent of the band with the length of this record. Its perfectly blends\, thanks to its almost scientific\, precise sense of narration\, some written pieces on which one can swear to hear the melodic curls of Robert Wyatt\, and totally spontaneous jams. Those latter are cut then glued back so much\, likewise Teo Macero’s work for the records of Miles Davis\, that they tend to form fairy tales from a lab written with magnetic tape. \n\n\n\nJean-Marc\, and his noisy DIY instrumentarium\, gave its part of chaos to the other members of the band\, who are keeping on making a clutter made of metal and broken glass resonate\, as if they were sparks of life. ‘La Consolation des Violettes’ is a woven universe of travellings on the edge of ruin and poems drawn with a soldering iron\, possessed with an impetus of visceral liberty\, a vibrating and profoundly moving music. \n\n\n\nLINE-UPAnne Careil: vocals\, synthesizerMathias Pontevia: horizontal drumsManuel Duval : horizontal synthesizers

A rather wild touch\, we might add. Don’t expect traditional Russian folk\, these ladies rock a little too hard for that. Their sonic expression is girlish and playful\, yet feminine and proud. And if the accordion player picks up her accordion\, she makes you dream of the Russian soul. But when Iva Nova start organ\, effects and reverb\, they bring you right back to the big city and its exciting urban feeling. The band was formed in 2002 in St. Petersburg\, and traveled to Western Europe for the first time in 2004\, after the release of their debut album. Ever since\, they’ve been touring extensively\, playing in numerous clubs and festivals in many countries. Besides lyrics in Russian Iva Nova have songs in Ukrainian\, Bulgarian and Georgian languages. Along with exploiting endless folklore resources they creatively experiment with many other styles. The amazing live show of Iva Nova is a colourful mix of lyrical songs and energetic punk dances – that’s pure musical anarchy!https://www.iva-nova.ru/enhttps://www.facebook.com/ivanovabandhttps://ivanovaband.taplink.ws/

SUMMARY:DANCE at PAS: Katy Higgins / Francesco Ghirlanda & Roberta Ricci / David Mariano
DESCRIPTION:DANCE at PASAn evening of movement and sound by Katy Higgins / Francesco Ghirlanda and Roberta Ricci / David Mariano26th April 2023Doors open at 20:00 performances start at 20:30Entrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1 OG. . . . . . .SCHEMAPerformed by Katy HigginsSCHEMA is a solo work that explores how and why the brain responds to sound and music. The first production of SCHEMA was in April 2019 and this re-working is a solo endeavor by Katy Higgins. Accompanied by a lively and diverse soundtrack Katy uses dance\, film and spoken word to delve deeper and traverse the emotive connections we create when hearing specific sounds and music. The motivation behind this piece came from the work of Daniel Levitin and their book ‘This is your brain on music’. Like the book\, this piece will be informative and maybe you will learn something new? Using this information Katy will create a space for everyone to laugh together\, maybe even cry together but most importantly – we will have fun! \n\n\n\nHERE. A story about timePerformed by Francesco Ghirlanda and Roberta RicciMankind has always struggled to reconcile inner time with the passing of external\, chronological\, objective time.Is there a moment when\, from inside our partitioned\, chronological time dimension\, we get a glimpse of the other ones?Is this moment a point of equilibrium as well as one of fragility?“HERE – A story about time” has arisen out of such enquiries and reflections. The performers have created a score upon which three dimensions of time take shape: absolute time\, which is unstructured and precedes existence; partitioned time\, which is sequential and chronological; and existential time\, which is human\, internal and\, though bound by chronological time (or\, perhaps\, by virtue of this very bond)\, glimpses “absolute” time by dilating and contracting. In their exchange\, the two performers channel a flow of experience fragments into images which mirror the complex emotions that created them.Here. We have landed in space and time. We both precede and succeed. We are temporary and thereby able to make sense. \n\n\n\nUNTITLEDPerformed by David Mariano \n\n\n\n(Cover photo credit: Giuseppe Signorino\, courtesy Francesco Ghirlanda and Roberta Ricci)

SUMMARY:Klub Demboh
DESCRIPTION:Klub DembohJanuary audio-vusual polyphony! \n\n\n\nAntonio Borghini – double bassAxel Dörner – trumpetMichael Griener – drumsJoel Grip – double bassMia Dyberg – alto saxophoneCarina Khorkhordina – trumpetFrauke Nowak – movement \n\n\n\nEntrance in the courtyard\, Aufgang II\, 1 OGDoors 20:30 \n\n\n\nThe Berlin-based group Klub Demboh has since spring 2017\, on a weekly basis\, developed an open and multiform music in which the unexpected often has drastic consequences. Improvisation on the verge of total collapse. Klub Demboh is a revitaliser of the Berlin experimental music scene in its openness\, tense precision and dynamic crater of timbres and organised sounds\, text and movements. The Klub erupts immer Mondays. The 11-piece band has frequent guests\, allowing for a slowly but surely constant changing Audio Visual Polyphony.
